The other day I was at Chatham Maritime with time to spare and decided to take a few photos. The people who live at the top of the blocks of apartments must have an amazing view. There is much going on in the area to appeal to different interests and it is continually growing. There is a large university campus with three universities, Chatham Historic Dockyard, Dickensworld, cinema and numerous restaurants.

The other day I had to go to a doctor’s appointment at a different location. So, unplanned, it took me near somewhere I used to spend much time and of where I have very special memories. So I decided to take a detour.

It was our weekend escape to stay in a caravan and I was able to write in peace and walk along the coast with the sea breeze blowing through my hair. There were many precious family times, fun and laughter. It was also our temporary home in between house moves in the freezing cold of winter. I never forget the first time I saw it, emerging over the brow of a hill with the panorama of the estuary coast on a beautiful sunny day.

Today I decided to go for a drive and see where I ended up. I have driven through Aylesford many times and never taken the time to stop and walk around. It was well worth it.

Hi everyone

Just got back home after another spell in hospital. I realise I have missed the blogging world which is out of reach where I stay as there is such a bad mobile connection and no Wi Fi. I thought about writing blog posts while I was in hospital but for me it isn’t the same. I like to be spontaneous. To write and post the same day if I can. There may be some snippets of writing that I can share but I tend to look back later at any writing I do in hospital rather than revisit it straightaway.

Anyway, the week before I was admitted to hospital following my third cycle of chemotherapy, I had taken a gentle walk in a couple of different places. So some of those photos will be appearing here. They are not brilliant photos, a bit blurry in places, but for me they represent days spent enjoying just being in nature on beautiful sunny – yet cloudy – days.

I think I’ll make this the last attempt at playing around with editing photos that I publish for now. It really makes me think how little I normally notice when I look at a flower. When I see these flowers here, it’s as if I am looking at them for the first time, noticing all their intricacies. Kay

I am enjoying this! Surprising what comes out of a visit to a garden nursery … (read my previous 2 posts for more info!) Once again, I am using a photo and selecting a portion of it to play with. On reflection, maybe this isn’t ‘abstract’ as it can be seen that it is a flower petal and leaf? Kay

It’s early Sunday morning and I’m playing around with a few photos I took in my small garden, which is in dire need of a makeover. I had given up on it completely this year and then I visited a garden nursery and decided to splash out on some sale goods – three pots of herbs and two hanging baskets – so that I had a bit of colour. I’m having a go at putting together a small slideshow just to see if I can technically manage to get it on my blog. I then decided to edit one of the photos which was too blurry to use. I cropped the photo and used the basic editing facilities available on an Apple computer. I love the colours and the abstract shapes created by the lines of the yellow flower. To me, I look at it and see deep blue sea and turquoise sky in the distance.

Photos from my trip to Wales last year – visited Anna’s Welsh Zoo near Tenby in South Wales. They seemed to love posing for photos and were very content – think these were Red Fronted Lemurs going by the website. Watched them for ages, hard to leave they were so cute.
